169 – Halfpenny London

Halfpenny is a London based bridal business. The offices, workshops and fitting rooms are scattered across a number of the Grade II buildings within Woburn Walk. A small retail mews designed by Thomas Cubitt in 1822. The project consisted of the review and rationalisation of how each of the spaces were used individually as well as understanding how they could feel more connected. The intention of the project is to create a new masterplan of the spaces that is based around enhancing the visitor experience of a bride as well as creating spaces that capture the character and atmosphere of Halfpenny. Phase 1 incorporated the redesign of Number 10 which became the space where initial bridal appointments would happen. The approach of the space was to pare it back and reveal the history and character of the room. New elements such as the hanging rails have clear definition through their articulation and material choice such as the waxed blackened steel against the neutral colour of the walls, floor and ceiling.
